THE
BIG QUESTIONS
______________

The big issues in science, philosophy
and religion have never been as relevant to man's progress as they are
today. Much of the news and commentary in the media offers limited help in
finding answers to the problems inherent in materialism and religious fundamentalism. But in the space between these extremes there are remarkable,
often under-reported changes coming about in man's understanding of
both the material universe and consciousness in all its aspects.
The perennial Ancient Wisdom is the underlying philosophy that unites religion,
science and philosophy: it offers a holistic way of life that is
principled, practical and well proven by generations of seers and teachers.
It is profound yet simple.
Its
relevance to us is in understanding the challenges of today’s world - as it's
only through intelligent understanding that we can see the best way to manage
those changes in our lives and for other's benefit.
Modern science is moving closer to the esoteric
ideas of the ancient wisdom, such as in psychology, consciousness studies and
quantum mechanics and it needs the holistic base of the ancient wisdom's ethics
and morals to guide it. So Theosophy - as a conduit of the ancient wisdom
- is one of the most far-sighted movements of our time.
So
some of the most relevant questions today are how mankind will apply to
itself these great principles of right living which have been given, lost
and re-given since time began.
That
is the responsibility - and hope - for humanity, especially to us as
individuals and also collectively as members of all races and nations.
